Surprising complete for under three minutes! Surprisingly, this is the first Hitfilm-specific Curves tutorial I'm aware of. Especially since it's such a vital tool.

This is actually really helpful. I'm just a stupid kid so I never knew how to work with curves, but I'll definitely use this tutorial to help with color-grading in my next short film. Great video as usual!

I'm currently watching a film on Amazon called "The Hole in the Ground, " in which curves is used in a fantastic manner to create an atmosphere and mood. I'm only 30 minutes into the film, so I have no idea if it will be regarded as a popular film; But all that aside, it seems to be an excellent example of use of curves. Okay, back to the movie!

Hey! Can you tell how to use my camera to shoot that kind of 'low contrast' footage? Or which camera should I buy?

I have a problem with HF free version
an example: I want to do a slowmotion of 50%, I click "speed/duration..." --> "OK"
now there is the problem...the clip is slower but the duration is the same as firstly, so the program cut half of the slow clip
can you help me? let me know

Anyone know of free assets and exercises with comparisons to get better at stuff like this?

Meeeh... For once I don't quite agree with a tutorial (even though I do like most of it!). You want to bring your lowest black down to the bottom ONLY if there is black on your image --and there is none on this footage. Likewise, you bring the white up to 100 ONLY if there is bright white on the image --again, none of this on that footage. I'd say on this image, you want to bring blacks down untill the very lower part of the waveform is between 5 and 10. If there were deep shadows, then you'd want to brush the bottom. And in that example, highlights look fine at about 90, no reason to go aboce (no bright spot on the image).

Why does the waveform have a sleep paralysis demon?
