Rhythm of War - Spoiler Free Review [CC]

I must not have done a good job coating that I loved reading RoW, even if I had some mixed feelings on parts. People seem to think I felt stronger on the negitives than the positives and I think that's because I had to explain why certain things didn't work as well for me, which is probably my fault for not overclarifying that I still loved reading it, even if I had certain things that I found dissapointing. Plus, a Sanderson 3.5 out of 5 is an any other book 4 star out of 5, I just have high expectations from him because he's one of my favorite authors. Anyway, I really hope everyone enjoys reading this book very much, even though I had mixed feelings on the execution of certain things, I still enjoyed reading it very much

My guess is hes putting focus on these new characters so that when the 5th book comes out he will flip the focus back. Then the smaller POVs will have more depth because of the work in book 4.

Way of Kings is one of my favourite books of all time. Honestly though, I was a little disappointed in the direction Oathbringer was taken in. I'm hoping Rhythm of War is great and that we get to see much more of my boy Kaladin.

The fact that this book focuses on Venli and Eshonai actually has me really excited, as I love their perspectives!

Hopefully this turns out to be a similar situation as when you didn’t enjoy game of thrones and then i read it and became my favorite series of all time. RoW will be the best entry 🙏

Interesting that the early reception is (relatively) mixed compared to the first few. I’m so biased toward this series that I have a hard time believing I won’t be mindblown by it. Though a lot of the criticisms I’m hearing aren’t necessarily things I expect to bother me - I love the character work and plot in Stormlight but for me it’s a world I don’t mind immersing myself in even if the pacing is off. I’m so deep into cosmere lore that I savor every little detail regardless of whether the plot is moving. I *loved* Oathbringer though so I’m glad to hear that final note that those who loved that will likely love RoW.

Oathbringer was my least favourite Stormlight, mailny because of how little attention Kaladin got. I hope it's better for this one

I absolutely loved Oathbringer, with Words of Radiance being a close second. Given the fact that it sounds like this one has similarities with Oathbringer I’m even more hyped than I was before watching your review. I KNEW this book wasnt going to be fast paced (or as fast paced as others) idk why my gut says this is going to feel alot like oathbringer (pacing wise) where we go alot deeper in world building which I ain't complaining
