Those are some sweet kitchen cabinet hinges 😂

I didn’t know an index finger was strong enough to put pressure behind an impact driver without coning out the screw head or wearing down the driver/bit. Amazing I learn something new every day. Thank goodness for all those seminars that promote YouTube videos that carry adds to make money for the authors of these videos whether they are true or not. Applaud. 😊😊😊

As a pro fence installer 2 things I see that may affect the fence in the future #1 hinge to small for the gate size #2 the pickets will get crooked because of the length on top..

Thank you! I struggled with the power drill and it's not quite aligned, but since the old hinges were rusted broken and partly falling off, it's still an improvement. Great simple and educational video!

I don’t know what I like better. Your content, your humor in responding to people, or the fact that you liked my TPB’s comment. You sir are a gentleman of high class and I’m subscribing for the ride.

Nice to see the angle brace is actually done correctly, so many people do that wrong

I love the look of hidden hinges . Only real downside is it creates a wall instead of having a direct path when fully open. Making it a possible obstacle moving stuff through

I want a fence, but I settle for Youtube videos, so much more relaxing.

By cutting the corners for the frame and giving them an angle, does that provide more support? I’m in the process to make my gate, that’s why I ask. Thanks. Looks clean and nicely done.

I'm here to look for the comments of people ask about the gate being plumb and your feedback lol...

Note the diagonal support - called a crossbuck - has been pre-installed while the gate was new & completely squared up.
Also note the crossbuck is going the correct direction, from the upper latch corner to the lower hinge corner AND is inside the rim frame.
This is a well built, fairly heavy gate. Therefore make sure the hinges & screws are rated for that weight. A 3rd hinge could be needed. If so, alignment of the hinges MUST BE correct or they will bind.

beautiful gate / fence, and it need to last 20 years, but it will not unless we protect it from it's enemy / rain & sun. Pressure treated alone will not last. plus if the fence is touching the ground, termites shall have fesasta. ASAP paint it with a oil base paint, 2 good coats, preferably 3. The flower Marigold will act as a termites deterant. 👍👍👍👍

Where you chose to install the hinge is week as well. The weight of your gate is going to be constantly pulling at the screws you put in the post. Where as if you would put the hinge on the outside the weight of the gate is pulling laterally on the screws which is stronger than how you have it pulling the screws straight out

not a fan of how this fence looks, but I respect something made well and something made by yourself

I think we're gonna need a bigger hinge

When I build a gate I build it out of square about an inch and half up on the outside edge so when the door settles its perfect

I would suggest a limit stop of some kind at 90 degrees. A good gust of wind pushing the gate open will bind the hinges and pull the screws out of the post.
A better way to frame to gate is to position the permitter framing members so that the frame is the same depth as the post. The hinges then can be installed on the face of the post allowing the gate to open 180 degrees.
