The Mass Readings Explained...Expanded

Well, we are approaching a New Liturgical year with Advent beginning on December 1.

And, with that, we are expanding The Mass Readings Explained to include the 2nd reading from the Sunday Mass, which is usually taken from one of the Letters of St. Paul.

Join us as we start looking into the moral and spiritual life from the teachings of the New Testament Letters taken from the 2nd reading at Mass, beginning December 1.

Dr Pitre could you put up a video clearing the doubt and confusuion of "praying or speaking in tongues". Is tongues jibberish sounds said to be angelic or God's language or is it known languages? or is it sounds of shamans during their rituals?

Cycle C liturgical years, such as 2019, have by far the most source variety when it comes to second readings heard during Ordinary Time on Sundays. Cycle A liturgical years, such as what next year will be, aren't nearly as interesting in that regard, especially since there are a total of 16 different Ordinary Time Sunday lectionaries with a second reading from Romans (not that all 16 of which are heard during any given Cycle A year, as that kind of thing is effected by when Easter falls).
