Genuine question... with all those joins being so tight and the spacing being tight as well, won't that lead to issues should the timber expand by just a fraction?

Houses get hot and damp at times so could that cause issues?

little tip ….. use pva in the middle of the spacer, and the mitre bond glue and spray round the edges . When you clamp it for 5 seconds, its dry, you dont have to wait 2hrs for the pva glue to dry before removing the clamps, you’ll only need 1 clamp 👍

How do you remove the fillet from the plow if need be? I’m getting ready to replace all my balusters with square. Looking for an easy way. I was thinking cut the existing baluster out and then pry out the fillet?

Pin nail at bottom where gravity is on side, , , then a load of clamps where gravity is working against, , interseting

More clamps then spindles it works that’s how you do it if you don’t want to use pins perfect

GD Gorgeous and with the knowing of how you built it I can fix it myself if a spindle gets buggered

All very good until you get to the end and the 1/2 mm added to each spacer make the last spindle look misplaced. Far better to dry fit and trim if necessary.

Is it wrong to use glue and a 23 gauge pin for the oak veneered spacers?
