I am a Shoei user and I have been using a GT Air for over 20 000 km, but this AGV k6 motorbike helmet always tempted me. So here is my review of the AGV K6 motorcycle helmet.

FULL DISCLOSURE:

This video is not sponsored nor did I receive any money. While I sometimes get bags for free, I have to pay custom fees, shipping fees and all my videos have lots of production costs (e.g. software and musicrights). Therefore I invest my own money into all of these videos and I have no intention to be biased towards a product or company. Every review and quicklook is written by me and no company can pay for preferential scheduling or what is said in the video. Furthermore, the company sees the video the same time as all viewers here on youtube. All opinions in this video are my own unless stated otherwise.

HOW I REVIEW:

As you might know from my „How I make a buying decision“ video: Rather than just looking at the pros, I like to evaluate the cons or flaws of an item and then evaluate if I can live with them. That is why in my video reviews I concentrate more on the cons of an item rather than going over all the features. Therefore everything shown is just a fraction of all the points that go into the verdict and score of an item.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A QUICKLOOK AND A REVIEW:

A Quicklook usually covers pre-production units or items that I only used for a short period of time. While Reviews cover final items that I have reviewed intensively.

LINKS:

For all my videos I decided not to include links for the products. Everyone is living in different countries and therefore has to deal with different shipping and customs fees. That is why I would advice everyone just to Google the product within their country to find the best deals. For instance: I live in Germany, It wouldn’t make sense to give you a German link while you might be living in USA or Asia. I hope that is understandable.

I have the K6 and came from Suomy and K1 and the K6 is amazing. I also have the Cardio system installed and do not have any issues with the mic touching my lips. I have to super exaggerate duck kissy lips to actually touch my mic, and it's positioned in the center. So I would say it's dependent on the owner's head shape. Wouldn't really say it's a negative as it doesn't impact every user.

I ride in a Bell Moto 3 most of the time. When it is too cold I use a modular. I like the dropdown visor, but tried the photochromic shield on a helmet a few years back and loved it. It is worth the money for dealing with the changing light conditions. K6 is on my list of potential new helmets.

Just bought my K6. And yes, the first thing I notice is about the weight. That's lighter than my Zeus ZS-611 (half face)! Haha.
And the visor is wide & great. I don't think I need a sun visor cause when the sun comes, I prefer to use my dark glasses. 😁

I own the k6 the airflow is next to non but leave the shield slightly open & I get tons of air. Doesn’t affect the aerodynamics at all

I've always owned Arai helmets and really liked them. This is interesting! Thanks!

I got my license 3 years and a half ago and so I'm still using my first helmet which is a Shark Evo One. I really like how easy it is to put the modular helmet on and off, so I will most probably stick to modulars, maybe the GT Air or a Schubert C4. Not having the tinted visor is a no go for me even if I know it's safer.

I ride Pistas, this helmet changed everything when it came out. I went from the previous flagship model, the AGV GP-Tech, to the Pista and it made the GP-tech feel like an ali express helmet. The visor is so big that you can't really see the edges, that and the low weight gives the illusion that your not wearing a helmet at all. It's loud as shit and it doesn't have any gadgets, but that's the sacrifice you make for a superior riding experience. You could get a corsa and have a little more creature comforts, but y'know what? Rossi doesn't wear a corsa!

My first helmet ever was a GT AIR-II, think I made an amazing choice. I too prefer the flip down visor over a reactive lens or straight tinted. Though The clear visor doesn't look as cool. A sacrifice worth making.

you can buy a transition pinlock to counterbalance the lack of dropdown visor

I have 2 K6s - 1x White and 1x Nardo grey. Best helmet i've ever had. I run a dark visor with the pinlock on the Nardo and clear with pinlock on the white. Daytime and sunny conditions gets the Nardo, late afternoon heading into evening or rainy days gets the White. Luckily my pillion is same size so I have the back up for them when they ride with me.
Previously i used Nolan N87 and HJC i10 and both gave me quite a bit of turbulence around the head at highway speeds especially when turning. K6 i barely notice any turbulence, forward or sideways at any speed and I ride a naked bike. Looks rad too, especially with the dark visor.
