Mono Bass Mix Trick

Love this! I often do something similar with bass instruments by making a duplicate track of the bass and having one low passed around 100hz and the other high passed around 100 or higher and I will add chorus and saturation to make the highs of the bass stand out will keeping the low end tight and unaffected.

Thank you! Great, quick trick, however, although i agree it sounds awesome when i tried it, i noticed a volume drop and ran in through a correlation-meter and it clearly shows now that its phasing-all-over-the-place. Surely this will cause mono-issues, wont it?

There’s a phase issue that occurs with the compression and chorus for the ears that can hear it

So the result is the bus in parallel mix with the compressed mono bass, because after the Chorus you cut under 100 Hz!?

Hi Mate, can you do a video about how to use room reverb and delays when mixing. I don't understand how to get that subtle reverb that creates cohesion. My mixes always end up muddy.
