Pretty impressive how easily new diesels start in extremely cold weather. I remember my Uncle’s Chevy with the 6.5 Detroit Diesel taking forever for the glow plug light to go off then cranking it and hoping it would start or you would have to start the process over. And that was at 40 degrees 😂.

This isn't surprising anymore with the introduction of commonrail. New diesels have been starting this well for many years

I live in Louisville CO. The only cold related problem I've ever had with a 6.7, out of about 10 from various years that I've owned or driven for work, was on a commercial chassis (f450+) where the screen in the tank gelled and put me in limp mode. The 350 and smaller don't have that screen, so it's not a concern. My current daily is a 2012 with 237000 miles that fired up like it was in the Bahamas that day we had -8 with a -37 degree windchill. Ford got a lot right with these for sure.

My 66 duramax fired right up in -5F every morning at 5am in cold MN. Pretty impressive.

My 2013 with no mods always started right up. Coldest start for me was -13F. Now it took forever to get warm! But my F250 never let me down by not starting.

Fastest starting truck I’ve seen aside from my 01 24 valve and a 6.5 I had years ago.

Ya know, I don’t know about y’all. But born and raised in Florida. Lived in Iowa, Utah, Washington, Texas, New York and Idaho. But it always feels colder in FLORIDA!!! Why???? 😂😂

My 2020 Duramax is just like this. Yea the emissions systems suck but these new diesels are amazing engines

I started my 03 6.0 power stroke one morning it was-32... I had it plugged in but the gfi blew. It went was totally odd as it was literally silent and then wacky wacky wacky. Passenger seat was shaking. That was a $800 cold start as it cracked the driver's side mirror. Heated heat hit it crack
