The Shadow: The MECHANICS of Your DARK SIDE (REMASTERED)

preview_player
Показать описание
The shadow is a moral problem that challenges the whole ego-personality, for no one can become conscious of the shadow without considerable moral effort. To become conscious of it involves recognizing the dark aspects of the personality as present and real. This act is the essential condition for any kind of self-knowledge. - Carl Jung

Shadow work is hard, therefore, the process of assimilation requires one to ask oneself some challenging questions.

In today's video, I endeavor to answer these questions.

Chapters:

Prologue - 00:00

The shadow can look big or it can look small, depending on the angle from which the light caresses you. What is the size of your shadow?

I think this video is the best description of Carl Jungs Shadow I have watched. Very good. Thoughtful and beautifully narrated.

Find Gold Within The Shadow.
Everything unconscious is what the shadow is.

Simple example:
It will contain anger if there is no healthy outlet for it and are overly compassionate in an unhealthy way.
Or compassion if all you are is anger consciously.
Yin & yang.

I enjoy these videos keep up the great work
💪

You have a way of taking the complex, stripping it to its essence; and serving it up in beautiful simplicity. ❤️

Great observation on life. This helps us to see that all shadows are born out of light and it is ourselves that stand in between/block the truth by the illusion. I can see why Jung never called it the dark work, because there is always light directly in front of us.🙏💜

Carl Jung is also one of my favorites:) This January marks a year that I’ve been discovering the gold in my shadow with my Jungian therapist. It feels great to embrace what I’ve been afraid of and running from for years. Sending much love! 💛

*_The most terrifying thing is to accept oneself completely._*
~ Carl Jung

*_As a child I felt myself to be alone, and I am still, because I know things and must hint at things which others apparently know nothing of, and for the most part do not want to know. *_Filling the conscious mind with ideal conceptions is a characteristic of Western theosophy, but not the confrontation with the shadow and the world of darkness. One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious._*

_A man who has not passed through the _*_inferno_*_ of his passions has never overcome them. *_Knowledge_*_ rests not upon truth alone, but upon _*_error_*_ also._
~ Carl Jung

"_There is no coming to *consciousness* without *pain.*_ People will do anything, no matter how absurd, in order to avoid facing their own soul. One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious."
~ Carl Jung

*_The State takes the place of God...and State slavery is a form of worship...The State, like the Church, demands enthusiasm, self-sacrifice, and love, and if religion requires or presupposes the 'fear of God, ' then the State takes good care to provide the necessary terror._*
~ Carl Jung, _The Undiscovered Self_

*_The increasing dependence on the State is anything but a healthy symptom; it means that the whole nation is in a fair way to becoming a herd of sheep, constantly relying on a shepherd to drive them into good pastures. The shepherd's staff soon becomes a rod of iron, and the shepherds turn into wolves... Any man who still possesses the instinct of self preservation knows perfectly well that only a swindler would offer to relieve him of responsibility, for surely no one in his senses would dream of taking responsibility for the existence of another. The man who promises everything is sure to fulfil nothing, and everyone who promises too much is in danger of using evil means in order to carry out his promises, and is already on the road to perdition._*
~ Carl Jung, CW 10, Para 413, _Civilization in Transition_

*_On the contrary, when I began my career as a psychiatrist and psychotherapist, I was completely ignorant of Chinese philosophy, and only later did my professional experience show me that in my technique I had been unconsciously following that secret way which for centuries had been the preoccupation of the best minds of the East._*
~ Carl Jung, CW 13, Para 10

*_The great events of world history are, at bottom, profoundly unimportant. In the last analysis the essential thing is the life of the individual. This alone makes history, here alone do the great transformations first take place, and the whole future, the whole history of the world, ultimately spring as a gigantic summation from these hidden sources in individuals. In our most private and most subjective lives we are not only the passive witnesses of our age, and it's sufferers, but also it's makers. We make our own epoch._*
~ Carl Jung, _The Meaning of Psychology for Modern Man_

Funny how we SEE these things ( this video) after we’ve awakened and understand duality. This is all new to me! Profound and empowering!

Great content! I bought the Red Book because of your latests videos. I've only read Jung's The Unconscious (1938) which I found at a local antique books store. It was a sale because it is such an old copy, but I felt dragged, gut-punched, called out, nourished, cleansed and de-traumatised after reading it. People pay tons of money to shrinks for years to get what I got for a few pesos. It's one of my precious posessions It all comes down to duality, doesn't it? Being aware of it, fighting it, keeping it in check, and finally accepting it.
