Apparently, the kid who designed the Alaska flag got a B but when he won, his teacher changed it to a A.

New Mexico's one has always been my favorite since I've learned about US state flags. It is simple but beautiful too. The choice of colors are powerful and cool

The animal in the reverse of the Oregon flag is a beaver, not a badger. We are the beaver state after all! :)

Great video, I hate to correct but the Oregon seal has a beaver and not a badger. The Oregon State university school has the beaver as their mascot. Great content and excellent video.

I honestly never cared enough to study all of the "blue background" flags because I thought they were all boring. But some of them were kinda interesting, and with some small changes could be really cool. Thanks for the information.
Also as a Pennsylvanian I'm bummed that we haven't switched to a simple keystone design yet.

9:50 ok but you didn't have to completely censor the Confederate symbol. Letting people know what the symbol was is important in knowing why it was changed.

Texas’ is super iconic, anywhere you go, you can recognize it (Except if your in Chile but shhh..)

Three of corrections:
1) The Alabama flag was a square until very recently.
2) The Florida flag didn't originally have the seal on it. It differed from the Alabama flag in that it is rectangular and (as you mentioned) the saltair is wider. The seal was added later to avoid confusion with the Alabama flag.
3) The new Georgia flag (as pictured in this video) is based on the first national flag of the Confederate States of America often called the Stars and Bars.

And do one about America's neighbour to the north Canada. There's only 10 provinces and 3 territories. Mention some first nations flags like you did in this episode. And maybe some city flags

I’m pretty sure the star in California’s flag comes from their friendship with the Republic of Texas

My birth state Maryland presents the most glorious visual trainwreck of the 50 state flags, and I love it very much for that. Once seen, it is not easily forgotten, nor can it ever be mistaken for any other state's banner once it is properly identified. I love showing it to non-vexillophiles, just to see their horrified reactions.

Fun fact:
The Yellow star of Texas comes from the flag of "Coahuila y Texas" from Mexico.
Which had the Green, White and Red but in the center had 2 big Yellow stars

Oregon’s reverses flag is a beaver not a badger

The Cherokee Nation's flag is is probably the best looking flag in my opinion. The meaning behind it is a good way to represent a nation. And I love that green and black ribbon border.

I really wish the current Mississippi flag had been their flag when I was doing my report back in mid school. That would have been fun to draw.

Edit: I have never heard anyone put the stress on the second syllable of Navajo before. I live in Navajo County and we ALWAYS put the stress on the first syllable.
