we live on top of the coast of Adriatic Sea in Italy in 1979 we had a very bad hurricane so we had to pile up sack of sand because the sea came over and we were safe

There should be no reason for anyone to be rescued in this area as this area should be empty from evacuation. You are selfish if you stay behind as you put rescuers in jeopardy.

If you don’t have money for gas, food, or lodging, how are you supposed to evacuate?

These cities need to put their busses in service to transport their residents to safety! And use federal funding to get hotels for people! It’s not enough to tell people to evacuate! They have to have a place to go and a way to get there!

It's time for the media to get back on track. Back in the 70s and 80s fema and local news would about a week before hurricane season stated on food prep, water, meds, download all important documents, pictures flashlights, battery's and at least 5 gallon of gas for car.

For the ones that can't leave due to hardship you staying is not going to save anything and risking your life. The county's need to have school busses ready to transport to shelters. Not one leader in any state has learned from Katrina. I have seen traffic since yesterday leaving and are just sitting there right on the water figure out to get them moving. Tanker gas trucks should be station on route because people will run out of gas sitting there. Everyone has got to better on any weather/terrorism. You make it up last minute or wait and see.
