I grow up close to an Amish farm. We always got our produce from them in the summer. The sweet corn was out of this world. There was a sign over the bin of corn that suggested cooking it just like this! I wait all year for their corn and tomatoes to come in and have a feast. Thanks for the video.

Growing up corn was ALWAYS boiled. Although it was good, I now always steam my corn. I bring the salted water to a full boil before putting the corn in a steamer tray just above the water level. If it is fresh, I allow it to cook for ten minutes., if it is husked and frozen, I steam it for 20 minutes. It tastes delicious ( to us) every single time.

For 5 minutes and it’s perfectly cooked.

I Microwave my corn on the husk for 8 minutes in a 1100w microwave oven.
Produces excellent cooked corn every time.

Just to think I have been doing it all wrong all these years! This video and gives me that wow because I had always put the corn in cold water then turn on the heat, and within an hour or so after removing it from the water, it started to wilt. Can't wait to try this method!

Iowa boy here with his 2 cents worth. Corn tastes great right out of the field. It doesn't need to be cooked, just heat it enough to melt the butter. I like to nuke it.

Thanks for the video! Probably a stupid question, but I would presume that if your corn on the cob is frozen, it should it be thawed to room temperature before using this method?

During the winter, it would benefit you to add a teaspoon of sugar to water, while it’s still boiling. You used the boiling method for summer corn.

Big Fan for years, you bring some Science into the kitchen, also you recommend what's good in kitchen utensils, instead of what's expensive
