Jennifer Lawrence is highly regarded professionally by film critics. Even where the reviewer was disappointed in the movie itself (The Hunger Games, The Beaver, The Burning Plain, even Silver Linings Playbook) JL usually gets praise for her performance . If you want to say that someone else deserved her Oscar more this year, fine, but please don't convince yourself that she's just a pretty face and not "a great actress", because that isn't a consensus opinion by film critics.

Argo is an incredible movie... but if it's the "Best", then it's not the best year for movies.
