I've added chapters in this interview since I've received emails and messages requesting me to do so. Let me know if you appreciate me including chapters for forthcoming interviews or you don't give a damn because I need to rewatch the video for like the 100th time.

Great explanation and story by JD! Weird to see him being this serious after watching all the bike sitters episodes 😂😂

Gotta say this has got to be the best interview done. JD really knows his stuff cause he spent hours doing research and learning more about anything and everything. Could literally see his passion for cycling spilling out as he explains his decisions. What a lad!

Finally JD’s interview is out one of the best interviews I like the madone with the Princeton wheels combination

JD you're so different here compared to the debate show with Caleb. It's so hard to see you serious but I like this very informative and logical reasoning of your bike experiences. You speak from alot of research and hands on experience.

I've had nothing but problems with Isospeed on my Gen6. Nothing fixed it. It kept loosing and then rocking from side to side by a lot making it very uncomfortable. We changed the whole bushing/bolt system according to Trek's service bulletin: problem came back. Changed the whole seatmast: problem came back. I ended-up having to warranty the whole frame. Luckily, the Gen7 was out at that point and I had the option of moving to the new design which I did. The isospeed is a failure for so many people, it's no surprise that they removed it from the new design. They claim it was a matter of weight saving but you don't have to search deep to find legions of people who experienced the same thing as me. The warranty process was slow and frustrating but at least it came through. I'll never say this enough: either new or used: Stay away from Gen6 Madones due to the isospeed.

I like how there are additional notes now... brand/model of the kit worn!

Funny enough, it was actually Specialized that thanked Lance for his contribution to mainstream road cycling in US.
Trek broke all ties with him at the time, everyone knows that Trek is where it is today because of Lance.

Like the guy. JD is a straight shooter. Clean and concise answers.

Finally got to see JDs interview. I was kinda curious who he was as he didn't appear on the channel before the podcast episodes

Also, I’m with JD (and commentators like Durianrider) when it comes to Lance. He exploded and forever changed cycling and its popularity, and not just for Americans. He made Trek so much money. Do you really think people avoid buying Trek because of Lance? Hell no. If anything, it’s probably still an unspoken selling point for them.

I also think the cancer research money he helped bring in totally cancels out the doping (which was predominant, and not just in the cycling world…sorry, that’s “whataboutism, ” but it’s absolutely true). I strongly recommend the multipart “30 For 30” documentary about him (it’s not a hagiography, but a pretty balanced take).

power meters have inconsistency so dont worry too much about getting your dual sided to be perfectly 50/50 it might actually be slightly off

Finally the legendary JD made his appearance! But the most important question:
