One of the first things i change is to back button focus only. The camera already uses bbf but the shutter button still operates the focus on the half press of the button. I turn that off so the shutter button only takes the picture. I also set the camera to AF-C when I do this. If you only tap the back button it will act like AF-S and focus just the one time. If you hold it down it will continously focus. That way I'm not having to go into the menu to change it from one to the other.

My favorite setting on the Z6 is focus shifting where I can take 2-300 pictures, shifting focus between them, and then stack them in Helicon och Zerene stacker. When I have taken a series, and use a Z-lens, I can also see in the camera an outlined picture to ensure that I have everything in focus. I have taken a lot of interior pictures where everything, after I have made the stacking, will have everything in focus in the room.

Just in case anyone is not aware, for #6 if you use NX Studio as your RAW converter then picture controls are added to your RAW files. This can save a lot of time if you've set up your picture controls to your own custom preferences.
