I did the same came home last year and surprise my wife and my niece while she was taking her road test but sadly after that i went to the cementary to visit my sister that passed away a months before i got home. her last text message to me was “ dont give up finish what your doing, I’ll be fine dont worry about me. I love you and i’m proud of you.” The next day she went into an coma and passed before i came home. 😢 we made a video of me going to the cementary and thought of posting it, it was really heartbreaking watching it. My little sister, i love you and miss you

I came back home from the army to finally see my son after four years, but when I returned I was given the news that my son had passed away 2 days before I had gotten back. He was only 9 years old and I have no idea why they didn't immediately tell me about my sons death. It was the most heart breaking moment in my life, the only reason I could make it through was becasue the hospital gave me a note my son had wrote before he passed that said "Hi daddy, I hope I was able to make you happy, but I'm sorry that I'm going to see mommy now. I love you and come home safe." I died inside after I read that note, but it also gave me the courage to keep fighting for him.

Being an Army kid this hits hard. Our Army don't do tours like the US but my father was on an UN mission for 14 months and that tour completely changed my relationship with my father.

As a US Air Force Veteran & the youngest daughter of a 30 yr US Navy Veteran these videos take me back to all the times I waited w/ my family on the pier every time my father came back home from being gone for his work w/ the US Navy. They also show the support for both active duty & All Military Veterans in the US.

They get me a bit teary...back in the 70s...we didn't get these kind of homecomings...it's really wonderful to see these young men and women get the love they deserve
