2020 Skoda Superb Estate: Very hard to fault

The Skoda Superb has been facelifted for 2020, and once again proves that you don't need an SUV to have space, comfort and plenty of practicality. Chris Knapman tests a 2.0-litre diesel model with four-wheel drive and Skoda's DSG gearbox in this CarGurus UK review.

Pros
Hugely spacious and practical for passengers and luggage
Comfortable and relaxing on long journeys
Should prove thoroughly dependable

Cons
Relatively unexciting to drive
Warranty could be more generous
Can be expensive if you're not careful with trim levels

Ive been driving the 2L 110 KW DSG version for 3 Years now 45.000km per year. Great for distance driving, great for hauling the family. Its a car for use, not for Status or feelings. I dont care, i love it. probably my next one will be Superb too ;)

Absolutely love my Superb!, have had 3 and collect my new 69 plate this week. Diesel version, L & K spec so fully loaded. Like the man says "Superb by name and superb by nature". I am registered disabled and the boot is well served for taking my mobility scooter out for the day. The legroom and heated rear seats keep my guests in total comfort and the new satnav display in front of the steering wheel is going to be a great advantage,
Looking for a quality estate - you HAVE to look at the Superb or you're letting yourself down!!

30000 kms after purchasing my Skoda Superb 162TSI wagon I am totally impressed. The outstanding fuel economy has to top the list of features that make ownership worth while.

I own a 2015 with 210k km on it...only had one issue, a thermostat failed...that’s it ! New one next year (4x4) estate as why would I need to be a badge snob and go for a vw or Audi as they are in real terms no better. A excellent car.

I have a 2007 Skoda Octavia diesel wagon I've had for nearly 10 years with 240, 000 kms on it. I must say it has been one of the most dependable cars I've owned. The only two components replaced were the air conditioner compressor (hardly surprising in Western Australia), and a fuel pump in the engine bay that was leaking a bit. Even the original DSG gearbox is still fine, and given their reputation, that's saying something too!
Everything electrical still works and it's comfortable to drive. I'd definitely recommend the brand despite the stigma.

I have had a Superb Estate before and loved the car. I was a vehicle examiner and know how well built Skoda's are. I then changed to a Kodiaq and loved that, but as I type this I am waiting for my new 2022 Superb Estate CE L to be delivered. You comments in this video, say it all, Superb by name, Superb by nature. Even the German Police are using them alongside BMW's and love them. Need I say more. Oh one thing, the indicators work on the Skodas haha!

We had ordered a bmw 320d m sport touring but because of covid we was unable to get the car from the dealership, which meant we still needed to get an estate car from an other source, we went to skoda and fell in love with the skoda superb estate. Because we was able to get such a great deal on the car we chose to buy a used superb 2.0 190 tdi dsg sel executive estate. It was absolutely fully loaded and a no brainer not to buy it .both my wife and I love the car, its a joy to drive and a pleasure to own .im so glad I missed out on the bmw because this car is hands down a better car for the money. Its without doubt the best car we have ever bought and ive owned a jaguar a Mercedes untold fords and a bmw m3 before. But the skoda does a bit of everything that little bit better. Simply skoda.

I bought a Sport Line DSG Diesel 2.0Ltr Estate on a 67 plate. It was 6 months old, an ex demonstrator. Got most of the extras fitted. Black on 19" rims. Replaced the front and rear silver Skoda badges with black ones. Removed the "Skoda" and "Superb" letters from the tail gate ( Komb3). Had it re mapped for a 50/50 economy / performance map. Driven "sensibly" returns about 45-50MPG round the town and motorway ? On a full tank, drove from Berkshire to Edinburg and then down into the Lake District and still had 1/4 of a tank, and my motorway driving is not "sedate". In sport mode, round the town, it is a lot of fun. Very sharp responsive steering. Pushed the tyres out to the maximum allowable width for the standard rims. Stuck to the factory fitted tyre brands as I find these are the most reliable for wear and road holding, especially in the wet. I do enjoy the having fun with the VW Golfs and BMW`s who pull along side and look down their collective noses at this poor old lumbering Skoda estate only to be left playing catch up away from the lights. As the reviews will tell you, her on You Tube, they are huge inside. Also love the adaptive headlights that turn to "look round corners" with the steering. Sat nav is very accurate as is the miles left on available fuel readout. For sure a "keeper"

I bought a year old Superb back in 2015 with 14k on the clock. Still have it, now with 118k. Best car I’ve ever owned, a joy to drive and totally reliable with nothing other than required servicing, tyres and bulbs since I got it. If it wasn’t so good I’d have changed it for another Superb by now!. Oh yes, it’s the lowly S version that cost me a £12950 from a Skoda dealer. I added beepers front and rear for £400 after I got it home. Amazing value, amazing car.

I’ve had a 19 plate Superb hatchback, 1.5 litre petrol, SEL Executive DSG for 6 months. It’s the best car I’ve ever had. Masses of room, very comfortable and very well equipped. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend one. Can’t wait to get another one.

I have just bought a 2016 superb sportline estate with only 17k on the clock. 2.0 190 bhp with dsg box. It’s epic. Looked at many different cars including Volvo BMW Audi and VW estates. Nothing compared to the Superb.

Brilliant car, and that goes for the outgoing model too. If I were the boss of Audi I'd be furious. Yes, Skoda are supposed to take the basic underpinnings off them but they are supposed to make the rest of it worse not better!!!

I've got a 14 plate mk2 2.0 litre diesel and it's still an awesome car. Great round town and awesome on any run. Been moving house and literally with seats down it took everything.... like the most comfy van. Can't see any need to trade it in.

The new facelift Superb really is a very attractive package, not only aesthetically, but also in terms of tech, practicality and excellent value for money, an executive class car without the executive price tag, another simply clever creation from an outstanding manufacturer!!.

ofcourse it can compete with Audi 6 or BMW 5. I owe it with L&K equipement with the same enginne like in review and 4X4 and DSG gear box. And it is perfect car. would not change it.

I recommended this car (1.5 petrol DSG SE L estate) to my dad as a replacement for his diseasel Astra on the Mobility scheme. My dad has MS and wants to be able to take friends to the pub while having his mobility scooter in the boot. Pleased to say that he will be taking delivery in January and it will be the best quality he's ever owned.

After owning an A3 and two Golf GTD's in the last ten years I finally admitted to myself that I need to put practicality first. I take delivery of my first Skoda next Wednesday, the Superb Estate SE L. I have to admit I'm quite excited
