Huawei were the only manafacterer I would of considered leaving Samsung for as a rule they make the best all round devices and their cameras are sensational. However the Google thing is a deal breaker, can't tell me that apple and Samsung didn't apply pressure to the US on this when they saw Huawei eating into their market share.

From another p40 review, gmail can still be access through huawei mail app and google map can use something call google map go.

I am genuinely torn right now, I'm due an upgrade and have been looking at the S20+ or Ultra and the P30 and P40 Pro.
I love my P20 Pro and would love a P40 but it's just the issues around the Google services that's holding me back.
Do you think it'll be worth the hassle installing apps third party to have this amazing camera?

Great video, but a couple of things to point out, objectively: Would be nice if you covered the manual controls of the camera settings a bit too. Like what is the ISO and shutter speed range (min/max), whether you have focus peaking controls, that sort of thing. Most people don't use manual camera settings, but some do, and nowadays even Dxomark doesn't dive into manual camera controls anymore, so for those interested in this aspect, it's a bit hard to find this information anyhwhere. Another thing to note is that I am not sure this is the best camera of 2020, it's a little early to call that just yet. We haven't seen the new iPhone, Xperia 1 II or the Mate 40 Pro for that matter. Love your content so I'm just nitpicking here.

Tbh the p40 pro+ was absolutely unnecessary, they could have just put the camera setup of the + on the regular pro and sold it!

Daylight shots are gross. Desaturated and the red tint is odd. Colour science is just off. I'd take the shots out of a s20 ultra snapdragon everyday.
