My teacher tells me the same thing, He tells me: listening a lot, English should be learned with the ears not with the eyes, because is that how your brain doesn't forget, my English level is B1 right now, I understand a lof when I'm listening movies, podcasts, music, .... but I need to speak aloud more even with myself in front of the mirror to be more fluent and learn new words every day. But remmeber, Both quality and quantity are the critical factors for listening. Quanitiy means the amount of time you listen to something. One person listen for 10 munites everyday and another listen 5 hours. there will be a big difference betweent this two person after 6 month, and quality is also important beacuse when you listen to something and you are sleepy and don't have any attention to it you won't catch anything but while listening, you listen with enthusiastic and passion so you will improve quickly.
