DISCLAIMER: This song is about the 189 brave soldiers of the Swiss guard during the sacking of Rome in 1527. The Swiss guard bravely gave up their lives on the steps of St. Peters Basilica so the Pope could escape. This video has nothing to do with the song, but due to a lack of footage on the event, I decided to make it crusader themed.

Fun fact: ' the last stand' is actually about Swiss Guard durring events of 1527 following sack of rome (war between holy roman empire vs papal states, england, france forming league of cognac), they laid their lives protecting pope.

Met a Swiss Guard in Rome back in 2019. Brought up this song and told the Soldier about how proud I am about his unit and what they did. The soldier was blown away off the sheer fact that I knew about this event!
