I didn't know about the function of the huge wooden stock. Makes a lot of sense. I suppose that the weight of the chain helps the stock dig in the sand.

I agree that technology has developed a better anchor. So they do look good as yard ornaments. Along with the traditional navy anchor. JMO I prefer the double fisherman's knot over the anchor knot because the bitter end comes back along the running line instead of perpendicular to it.

Except on tattoos, the stock and the crown/flutes are in the same plane, making them only effective at holding someone's attention.

I don’t understand the design, what happens if the anchor falls on the sea bed as if it were on display, the fluke would never catch properly, why not have a a 3 dimensional anchor wit( 4 flukes
