Google Photos App Won't Delete Pictures Stored on SD Card Fix

In this video I'll show you how you can fix a problem with the Google photos app refusing to delete photos stored on an SD card on a android smartphone. You may get a message saying it doesn't have permission.

Please note: this fix will not delete your photos, but they may take 30+ minutes for them to reappear in the Google photos app. If you have backup and sync turned on, you may also need to reselect folders that you want to back up again.

You may also find that deleted photos do not instantly go to the trash bin. This may depend on the speed of your SD card, and other factors. Please allow 20 to 30 seconds and they will appear in the trash bin.

Hello, I have a Motorola Moto G Stylus 5G phone and it's very difficult for me to access all my photos on my SD card. I tried to use your instructions on this video but on my phone it gave me a different message and read that it might also delete locked folders, etc. I prefer to save all downloads, screenshots, social media photos, and camera shots directly onto my SD card. The trouble I am having with mine I delete from device, delete from photos app, empty the trash, when I restart my phone they reappear dispute it says it will permanently delete from device. This is both from my gallery and photos. I am about ready to do a hard reset of my phone

From what I understand Google Photo will delete photos by the end of June 2021. If photos are on a sd card, within my phone, are they safe from automatic removal?

This solution does not work for my Note 8. I do not see clear storage under the photo app. It says my data would be permanently deleted. Not sure I should click yes for that prompt
