Felon on parole in custody in several shootings in New York City

Authorities charged Sundance Oliver with murder, attempted murder, robbery, assault, menacing, criminal possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment, and criminal possession of stolen property in connection with three shootings. Oliver is on parole on a prior conviction.

It isn't the police who keep releasing him after his arrests, it's the courts. This police commissioner said she's going to make sure he's not back out on the streets, but it's not up to her to do that. I don't know why they keep telling us that all the time.
