Love you doing this. I hate split levels. Why do I have to go up a half flight of stairs just to immediately make an up or down decisions? No room for shoes or coats. And the house literally feels segregated. Or you have the horrible ones that have stairs in the middle of the kitchen. And everything echoes. Idk why people make these. It is so satisfying to watch you correct this travesty

Am I missing something? Why wouldn’t you fill the wall cavities with insulation before putting on the plywood? Regardless of where you live, insulation will help with heating and cooling depending on the season.

Had a house like that growing up in the 70s. I especially hated those split stairs. So cramped and not pretty.

This is off topic but I was thinking of things you could add to your backyard.
First idea is a top notch dog house for the dog and second idea is to add a small little pool house for your pool and paint it white to match the green house. Hope u like the ideas! Let me know what u think!
