Lets take a look at the 2015 version of McAfee Internet Security- part of McAfee live safe

Hi PC Security Channel, a very interesting review I really enjoy your commentary on these products its an added element with some humor involved (who can forget quick infect] or even IO malware fighter best software on the market stops malware even when you don't see it. Anyway, McAfee did better expected its always been a fairly good product just not outstanding its so well known because its in the corporate world much like Norton. Also another
 interesting point you brought up was the installer key this may be a trend among these products to stop individuals from stealing and using the product multiple times on different systems.

I had this shit on my laptop back in day, and it let viruses go straight to my comptuer, probably had ransomware, and computer crashed.

At CES 2014 Intel CEO Brian Krzanich intimated they'd rebranded McAfee as Intel but for some reason would keep using McAfee logos; maybe like with Symantec it's easier for  a company where security isn't sole focus to market known "has worked well" apps, updating only enough to keep running on updated OS's, than it is to stay on cutting edge of security needs? Thank you for acknowledging the high RAM usage of this product. I've tried their AV Plus product and on my Win 7 system I get 220MB RAM usage at idle (which is double any other product I've used). The "labs" mostly rate McAfee good or excellent on performance, which I don't get.  And it's all really too bad because I do love Site Advisor and the protection for a common sense user is pretty good. Unfortunately I just won't use a product that uses so much system resources. Thanks for the review.

I usually buy McAfee LiveSafe on black friday because Walmart sells it for 10 bucks every year :)

Granted, this review is nearly a year old now but McAfee have drastically reduced their resource footprint and they're no longer a system hog. In fact, it uses less than my web browser. I can't speak for performance when it's scanning but then it's set to perform it's scans while i'm sleeping so it wouldn't affect me at all. My acer laptop came with a trial and I was then offered a one-time only offer of £39.99 for my first year. That price for unlimited licenses is a fantastic deal so I decided to go for it.

So far, so good. it's no heavier than Microsoft's own security solutions, half the time you'd barely know it's running and Site Advisor has to be the best of it's kind (it's not a toolbar in Firefox/Waterfox).At full price I would argue it's overpriced and totally unnecesary if you're careful but at over 50% off it's great to have that full featured security blanket available.

Installation can be a nightmare though. Once set up however it's rock-solid.

last time I used Mcafee was the start of the Windows95 era .... I use Avast Free (with Eminsoft's free product and Malwarebytes free scans too as a backup) ... though for a paid option (I cant remember if its still good) I use to love Eset and ESPECIALLY Kaspersky's product.  

The last I tried Kaspersky's scanner it WAS getting more bloated compared to what it use to be before that but it CONSTANTLY gets GREAT results from what I have seen (I dont keep up on reviews, as much as I use to)

I love McAfee security it's saved my computer from being thrown away it detected 2 viruses and Trojans and Malware this recess from the free version of McAfee antivirus thank you McAfee for saving my computer thank you for removing the virus

It's not just Intel machines that their products get loaded onto.  I just got a new laptop a few weeks ago and it has an AMD A10 Quad Core CPU it's an HP which usually has Norton products as the trialware but this machine came with a 30 day subscription to McAfee LiveSafe.

My ISP has McAfee Internet Security as part of my Internet package for free, what settings do you recommend.

I can't recommend McAfee. Had a malware installed that changed the home website of my browser and made it impossible to right-click and other issues, and McAfee did not detect it. McAfee also "freezes" a lot of times, and is not good overall.

You know, watching this again I find it entertaining how 150 is apparently enough to be complaining about. BitDefender is one of the top rated commercial security solutions and mine's currently idling at 266. At least as much as McAfee if not slightly more.

I've yet to find the "perfect" security solution. I honestly don't believe it exists.

it killed my VM better to have a virus. i do Core2duo e8400 and still very heavy.

Eh as long as mcafee doesn't track or sell my information to other people i'm fine with out deleting it. It came with my pc. As long as it doesn't get in the way of any thing ether.

I like mcafee artemis it is good at detecting malware

mcafee 2008 old good days..interface was better and settings. Todat is very ugly and complicated with slide down parts.
Nevertheless mcafee is so heavy on pc an ineffective in detection and so expensive..
Free av are better choice and better protection.
