Fact: While Yugoslavia did collapse in 1992, it technically didn't cease to exist until 2003. This is because Serbia and Montenegro, the two countries that didn't fight the Yugoslavian government, were in a country called the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, which stayed until 2003 when the country's name changed to Serbia and Montenegro. So while SFR Yugoslavia collapsed, FR Yugoslavia was still alive for another 11 years.

I remember during young days watching Yugoslavia against Argentina in 98 World Cup. I’m surprised how good Yugoslavia was and asked my brother who knows better about football “have Yugoslavia won a World Cup before?” Just show that quality they have during WC98 even after already split with Croatia.
