✅ Another way to subtract a mixed number from a whole number is to convert the whole number and mixed number to improper fractions, find a common denominator, rename the whole number fraction so it has that common denominator, then subtract.
EXAMPLE: 7 - 2 and 3/5 = 7/1 - 13/5 = 35/5 - 13/5 = 22/5 = 4 and 2/5

Love this way! I was taught (in the old days😅)to turn the number and fraction into a top heavy fraction and the other number into a fraction then subtract..a lot more steps. Your way is better
