Thank you so much! Though this video is 5 years old, it is the FIRST INFORMATION I was able to find about how to achieve what I called, on my film camera, "Full Aperture Metering." On the Fuji camera, it means turning "Preview Exp. and WB Off" when in manual mode. I did endless google searching trying to find how to do this. I knew there had to be some way to achieve this, but could not find it alone. Again, many thanks. You have made my day.

Thanks for very informative video, Omar! Went from Nikon D750 to Fuji XT2 for 6 years, now using Fuji XT3. Really love the shooting experience, it makes me want to use my camera so much more! Fuji you Guys nailed it! Don’t understand why Nikon and Canon don’t seem to care about crop sensor camera market, and have such pitiful lenses, with no aperture rings. Nikon and Cann ned to take hard look at Fuji who really offer superior crop sensor product line, and compete with even N & C full frame cameras, as so many professional Photographers have switched to Fuji mirrorless. I’m glad I did! Six years and counting! I Have owned 6 different Fuji lenses ( all really good), but have settled on primes, esp the Fuji 23mm f2 and 90mm f2 (Note that Nikon and Canon don’t offer anything like these in a crop sensor mirrorless camera). Excellente amigo! Awesome video on setting up the Fuji for flash, I use most those settings as well.

A massive thank you for all (well, most) of your videos. The technical ones, choosing the optimum settings for the camera have been a lifesaver. I've switched from Nikon to Fuji, purchasing the X-T3 and an X-E3 after buying a used X-M1 and thoroughly enjoyed.

I couldn't find any information about something so basic as view in low light for flash shooting as seting wb /exp for viewing/focusing/composing in low light. Thousends thanks!!

My flashes are all manual nikon ones, pretty old too! So I set my camera to fully manual and just have the preview exposure on the front function button. Focus, composition with preview off, confirm with preview on that it's really under exposed and shoot. Then tweek the flash settings if needed. However with practice I'm correctly exposed on 90% of my first shots.

Note that flash mounted on hotshoe is either pointed at the ceiling for a nice bounced even fill or a the wall for a similar but harder look.

Omar first of all thanks for all your great tutorials. Since I'm a complete beginner with a flash (I just bought a Fuji ef-42 for my Fuji XT-20) and I don't even know how to start using it / connecting to it at all, I would be very happy if I would also post some video for complete beginners - from installing the flash on the camera further. There are many symbols (TTL, sync - front, rear, M ect.) which I don't understand and your explanation from the very beginning would be welcome. Greetings!

Finally got my X-T3 and a flash so I’m going back through all these tutorials for help.

I liked the pop-up flash on my X-E2.
I set it to iso 800, f5.6, 1/250, and set the hyper focal to 1m. Then I could walk around parties flashing people all night.
