Being raised properly in such a traumatized generation has been really confusing and worrying to me. My parents accepted me for who I was and didn’t believe in punishments, they also talked to me like I was an adult and always made sure to value my opinion. I've gotten so many people worried about me for being mature at 8, some even called the police on my parents. I was just raised like a human being, and it hurts seeing others weren't. Strength to yall, we'll make sure the next generation will have the best lives they could wish for.

oh my god that "why are you so quiet?" is so real. when i was younger i used to talk a lot and my dad would constantly tell me to be quiet and no one in my house would ever really continue the convos i wanted to start. now my dad gets upset because i don't talk to him unless i need to. i know it's not the best but after being ignored for so long i just got used to it
