What’s the point in making the iPad Pros thinner?! This is crazy. The battery life is going to take a massive hit all courtesy of this pursuit for making ‘thinner’ products.

The etched glass option it's like 150 extra, more importantly it's only available with the 1 and 2 tb storage options.

Watching the progression over the last few years, I’ve kind of figured that the iPad Air line would likely get to a place where it would be enough for my needs in future iterations, and now, here we are. I’m not ready to upgrade from my 2020 Pro yet, but it was nice to get a touch point for where things are going.

I am a calligrapher and I've been using my ipad pro and pencil since 2018 almost daily, it's my job, and I really want to like this roll and doubletap thing, but I...can't? Tapping on the pencil was always worse than buttons on the wacoms, and I even had to disable it altogether because it would ALWAYS false-click for me in procreate when I was adjusting the pencil in my hand. I think the same thing will happen to me with rolling because I'm just one of those people who likes to roll the pencil in their hand while drawing, it's not a static grip, so.... it will register as some sort of move? And what's the point of a double-tap if even single-tap doesn't work well? I teach people calligraphy (on paper and lettering on the ipads) and I haven't seen a single person irl who uses the tap.

I’m very excited about this Pencil upgrade. Also curious if the etched glass option for the iPad Pro will be good for drawing, but it seems to only be available with 1GB of storage, making it $2K for the 13” inch (with 16GB of RAM and the un-binned M4). That strikes me as a really unfriendly pricing model even for Apple.

I am quite nervous about the thinness of this new design; I suspect if I ever get one I’ll feel compelled to get a case for it which really defeats the purpose.

I hope that you can test the etched glass option and give your opinion on the drawing experience, but given the cost I’d understand if you decide not to. At $2K that is probably not going to be an option many artists go for.

Made the move to M2 last year from a 2018 IPad Pro. Got it for the hover feature and the processor, but the improvement only felt 7:13 incremental. I can’t imagine that the M4 is going to be earth shattering enough to warrant an upgrade. Awesome product though! 👍🏾

I upgraded from the M1 to the M2 iPad Pro because they locked a feature I was really excited about (apple pencil hover) to the M2 iPad Pro, and now they're doing it all over again with the new Apple Pencil Pro. Unreal, I am beyond fuming. I am never buying another Apple product again.

Maybe it'd be too skeuomorphic, but I wish there was support on the Pencil Pro to turn it around and use the other end as an eraser. Could even make it programmable with your own shortcuts. Hell, even keep the current barrel grip on top of it.

Also damn it Apple, was it really too hard to just call it a Pencil 3?

By the time you add the Nano-texture glass and the new Apple Pencil Pro, these latest versions are super expensive, especially over here in Aus. AUD$3, 998 for one of the new 13" iPad Pros with their Nano-texture glass & Apple Pencil Pro (1Tb & WiFi+Cellular version) 😮😮

"Squeeze the pencil" is a poorly thought out feature. Many artists hold their pencils tighter when they are doing something intense, which will end up triggering the "squeeze menu". Also very disappointing the pencil gen 2 will not work with these new iPads. Waste of money.

I really wish the Pro was available with a larger screen. I might invest in the full-out edged screen pro with the pro pencil if it was 15". For now, I'll stick to a bulkier 16" 2-in-1.

New pencil not working with last gen iPad Pro bit sad... gyroscope nice... still no built in "eraser" on flipping the pencil. Not sure how I'd feel about the "rumble" feature without putting it in my hand, feels like a waste of battery power though on first thought/impression.
I don't see the tablet being any thinner actually helping. At this point I think hardware-tech companies make things thinner just for the publicity, I'm expecting cases to just get thicker now to make the things feel better in the hand.

Speaking as someone with an aging 4th gen ipad pro, if I have to buy another apple pencil, *sigh* then I'm going back to Samsung. For the most part, the Apps have caught up. I need to get off of the Apple grind. I think I need to know which apple pencil works with what. I'll miss Procreate, I'll miss Fresco, but there is Clip Studio, Infinite Painter, ibisPaintX and others.

I was thinking of buying the iPad mini even after this event was announced, but I think I'm going to buy the new iPad air along with the new apple pencil. More power, more storage, more updates; it just seems like the best idea. The only feature I'd like for this new iPad air to have is the ability to connect any bluetooth keyboard, I hate that is only compatible with the magic keyboard

Disappointed that they didnt make a bigger ipad...i have been using the 12.9 and it feels small...id say 16 or 14 inch would feel a bit better

The othe thing is the matte glass option is 150 dollar more and only available for 1TB and 2TB model, which cost too much. Really hate apple and their "none expandable" storage BS ..so that u are force to pay so much or pay for icloud etc.

The new feature on the Pro pen are nice.
