When two mounted policeman came by, I clearly saw clear shields over the horses eyes. I figured it was protection from teargas or something like that. I’m glad they think to protect the horses from whatever might happen.

It is St George's Day. ! ! Well the good thing is that no other marches or gatherings can be allowed if our own peaceful gathering causes this reaction.

Armonde gets agitated when ppl protest or parade down the street directly in front of him. Horses are taken back for safety reasons. These are military in horses.

No one in the comments seem to understand that this area is at the heart of Government, that Horseguards itself houses the offices of the senior Major General and is within the Ministry of Defence.
Celebrations are fine as long as they are registered with the police; spontaneous celebrations are not allowed in the area of the Government; nor are demonstrations where the English Defence League is seen and heard to be chanting their neo-fascist rhetoric.
I celebrate St George's Day and attend properly organised events.
