As climate change raises temperatures and increases the impact of natural disasters around the world, it is starting to take a toll on more than just property and land. Climate anxiety is increasingly becoming an issue, says Cecile Tucker, a registered clinical counsellor who has seen a significant increase in climate anxiety since she began her practice almost a decade ago.

Your news contribute to this anxiety… and may be the source of it.

Remember when acid rain was going to end us all? Whatever happened to that? Did the hole in the ozone suck all the acid away?

Well its more than a challenge being anxiety and mental wellness, its reality. Being a half glass empty person, its no surprise, the carnage will likely end for a while about 3 months, if we come out unscathed plan for next summer, knowing it will likely be worse
It is likely better to be busy and useful, like be a volunteer, alternatively be creative. That helps me but everyone is different
There is no good reason to ruminate or attempt to digest reality. Sadly tragedy is too common even without climate change and our attempts to answer it are very lacking.
The best anyone can do is to learn, work in some capacity and attempt to mitigate it into the future. There is no guarantee of saving ones mental health

20 years ago, I was tried of writing university papers on the problems of our take, make, waste economy. So I began with building local food and energy efficiency renovations and then large scale renewables deployment.

For anyone confused about whether what we're experiencing today is actually climate change or random weather patterns I suggest you look up the Paleocene-Eocene Thermal Maximum (PETM) and compare it to what we're seeing today. During the PETM average global temperatures rose by around 5–8 °C. We're trying to keep it at 1.5 °C and failing. During the PETM around 12, 000 gigatonnes of carbon dioxide were emitted over a 50, 000 year period, averaging 0.24 gigatonnes per year. According to the IEA report published in March 2022, we released 36.3 gigatonnes of carbon dioxide in 2021, a 6% increase over what we released in 2020.

I can certainly understand climate anxieties. Especially if you’re very young seeing the scientific data. I’m older and know weather has definitely changed in the last 20 years. Those who deny it’s happening or laugh at the obvious, worst consistent heat waves, more frequent devastation all over the globe are just plain ignorant. Some of the comments are laughable but also very sad
