The most common question I get from readers and viewers is, "what kind of jewelry making tools do I need if I want to get started making wire wrapped jewelry?"

Well, if you're just starting out at wire wrapping, you really only need 3 tools. In this video, I go over those 3 very important tools and show you what to look for when you're choosing your pliers and cutters!

These three essential jewelry making tools are: chain nose pliers, round nose pliers, and flush cutters. Watch the video for more details!

There are many levels of jewelry tools. For beginners I recommend you start with something inexpensive and work your way up when you find your tools are wearing out quickly or they are too uncomfortable to use for a long period at a time. The more expensive ones tend to last longer and be more ergonomic, but if you're not using them a lot it may not be worth it to you to splurge. I just wanted to say thank you for making this video, and especially for the links to go buy the necessary tools. You made my life so much easier, in trying to get this started. I'm making jewelry with rocks, and gemstones, irregular and natural, and as much as I didn't want to learn wirewrapping, for some of my bails, I just see no other option! Great tutorial BUT, to demonstrate using Tronex which are very expensive for a beginner, is a little disappointing. it would have been very helpful to suggest some cheaper alternatives for us as there are so many and its very confusing. I want good tools but at a much more reasonable price than yours shown. Cheap ones from China etc are obviously rubbish, so any recommendations would be very helpful. thankyou
