Greatest Puncher In Prime .. Not Greatest Boxer

“The greatest of all time” is going too far. Tyson never beat any Hall of Fame level fighter in his prime and got ko’d by a mediocre heavyweight in Buster Douglas. Larry Holmes was well past his prime when Tyson faced him and Hall of Fame level fighters beat Tyson handily. I’m not saying Tyson didn’t possess all time level talent, but you can’t objectively put him in the echelon of greatest fighters because he never beat fighters who belong in that echelon. He made life decisions that cost him that level of greatness and people who ignore that do a disservice to the great fighters who made good decisions when they were in their prime. The recent reimagining of Tyson as an all time heavyweight distorts the real extent of his accomplishments and obfuscates the severity of his failures. Great tutorial though.
