Just when I think I have problems I see people like this. My heart goes out to him, it's so easy for us to look at someone like this and see exactly what steps they would need to take to unlock their true potential. The grand joke of life is how much harder that is to do for ourselves.

“Stop waiting for someone to give you permission.” So many powerful lessons for charisma. Amazing video !!! 🔥🔥🔥

It was pain watching him try, but that's literally most of us in that situation, getting throught that awkward pain makes you much better in your social skills

Wow that guy was really trying and he managed to make the room laugh at the end, that’s what it’s all about trying even when it’s uncomfortable. Hats off to that guy and to Julian for being such a good teacher

Man I can totally relate to this guy as it’s pretty much the same way I act in social When I’m at home with my misses I am confident, charismatic and carefree. Always making jokes and clowning around.

But as soon as I’m around anyone else I feel like the real me disappears and I suddenly become verbally and emotionally constipated to the point where I can’t express any kind of emotion.

Everything just becomes awkward and I feel like I’m rehearsing things in my head to say before I speak - and when I do speak it always comes out stifled and rushed with no emotion...

It’s like I suddenly turn into a really rigid actor that can’t move, emote or speak properly.

I wish people could see the real me but so far only my misses and a couple of people extremely close to me have met that guy.

I used to be so carefree in college. I was an asshole, and I mercilessly beat myself mentally for the past 7 years because of some mistakes I made back then. I've made myself feel worthless. I compare this anxious quiet guy I've become to who I used to be and it's wild... I'm more accomplished, more moral, physically stronger than I've ever been, but I can barely speak sometimes, and I get so tongue-tied for stupid reasons. The other day though I had my first free day in a long time. I went to urgent care to deal with a foot injury, chatted with some of the ladies behind the counter all normal, got wait listed so i went and talked to an acquaintance who lived in the area who I've always had awkward convos with and it was fluid and kind of fun, then i went back to UC and I rizzed up my nurse, she was smiling and laughing the whole time, then i rizzed up my doc as well, she was more serious, but she still smiled a lot, laughed at some of my jokes. It was a really good day. I want that more often.

That guy is actually good, I wouldn't be able to do anything in that amount of pressure.

I recently found you and love your stuff. Something about this video really hit me and all of a sudden I felt very clear. I felt really happy and then burst into tears. This has NEVER happened to me before. I kept saying to myself, "what are you doing". I then grabbed my phone and started to write because I wanted to capture what I was feeling. This is what I wrote.

Its up to me to generate my own fun and vibration. You can stop now. Stop trying to do what you think you should do and start just being. For you. Start joking. For you. Carefree, fun passion. For you. Stop chasing something that is not there. Stop doing what you think you should be doing. For others. Do you. Really do you. Because you are amazing and funny and loving and passionate. Don't contain this any longer. It's you, so live it authentically, without covert contracts or caregiving. You are trying so hard to be the things that you naturally are, but looking for permission to do it on the outside. You don't need permission any more. Set yourself free. For the first time in your life. Set yourself free. For you. Just for you, and watch everyone around you enjoy this gift as they see the real authentic you. I love you. I really love you and I am proud of you. Very very proud of you. Now start living because you deserve it.

I used to be a funny energetic guy, but over time got wound so tight and don't know how to get out. I think I figured it our this morning and it hit me. Be me. That's it. So simple, just have to break the habit of making others approval the top priority. Thank you so much for doing what you do. I will carry this with me through my day and we will see what happens!

It is important that there are people teaching what Julien teaches, because nowadays we are taught to be more and more repressed, and many try to take advantage of the weak.

The highest ROI 22 minutes of my week. Thanks Julien. Now I understand why I never find rapport with baristas. I’m trying too hard to make them smile when actually I should be focusing on what makes ME smile! Amazing

This guy is exactly what I need to finish my work to be a functional, mature and healed adult. I’ve done so much work but there’s still so much more. You can only go to therapy for so many years if you don’t have the money for it. I have a good foundation and all these videos just help me refine myself a little more.

Anyone out there in a dark place, you really can heal yourself with help and effort. So many of us are rushed through traumatic childhoods and that child stays with you. In a way my younger self has become my new best friend, my adopted child. And you know what? Kids fucking rock dude. I bet that kid inside of you is 10x cooler than the yo behind the mask of inhibitions.

Props to that shy guy for pushing through, his energy is so internally challenged and conflicted. If he could see the light in what Julien is saying (he can’t just take Juliens word for it, or that too would just be an unauthentic act, he could find it inside if he inquired more intensely to himself). I imagine he would have a lot better time in this world and people would reciprocate it back.

I can tell you why he’s not confident. He’s not 6” tall and his whole life he had been hearing from people and mainly women that they desire everything he is not. My absolute empathy to you man! You’ve got this!!!

When I direct films, I often show the actors what I want them to do by doing it myself rather than telling them what to do. For example, if this guy wanted you to celebrate a motorcycle race victory, he could have himself pretended like he was celebrating a motorcycle race victory. He could have been like, "Alright, Julien, I know you might feel nervous about this shoot, but we are going to do this together. I'm going to show you what I want to see in you." It takes a lot of the pressure off the subject, allows the director to be loose, and since we are creatures of imitation, it is much easier for the subject to learn what they are supposed to do.

I used to be in a band and sometimes we'd play to a room of less than 10 people. I performed as if the room was full everytime, I loved the music and let that show regardless of who or how many were watching. This is how we should treat life, you need to love yourself and let that show through your energy and by being fun and passionate, regardless of your audience. Your vibe will be contagious.

I feel like it’s easy to say all these things when you are already comfortable in your own skin. Depression, anxiety, years of conditioning molds us into the person we are and affects all facets of our personality. So if you fix one thing, you still have another thing reminding you of what you are. Whether it’s your anxious sounding voice or nervous habits in an overall confident demeanor. We live life judging based on the smaller details expecting the entirety of a person must show absolute confidence and lack of uncertainty.
