I live in Chilton County Alabama, straight up I65. Our county commission voted tonight to give Florida residents free RV parking in Minoka Park in Clanton for two weeks.

I'm a native from Florida, born and raised 18 years, and I've been in NC about as long. This is the first time in my life I've ever heard a professional, non-sensationalized report of a hurricane. Professionals speaking to people like we're actual adults, stating the severity but not fear-mongering. Not having a big ego, trying to pretend like they're omniscient, but instead actually letting us know, hey, not all models show the same thing, here's our best "prediction, " but also it might shift a bit. The constant catastrophizing is exactly why people don't take any storms seriously. Thank you!👍

I'm here in Sarasota trying to get some sleep, but I find myself stressing over the storm again. Tomorrow will be tough. Hopefully, I can rest a bit beforehand. I'm a native, but this stuff is never easy. I'm praying for the beautiful state that I love so dearly.

I am praying for the people south of Tampa too. They have had a bit much from Debbie and Helene. I am here in Tampa and staying with my cat. I am disabled and 9 miles inland away from the shore.

I need help tropical storm. Helen took my home away from me and made me homeless. Also took my wheelchair for me and I’m paralyzed from the 11 down and I have been battling with a bone infection that is causing me to keep going sepsis and sepsis shock and I have five stages for wounds all over my body due to my old wheelchair and my new wheelchair that was destroyed due to the storm please someone help me please I need to get my story out before I pass away

I think it's gonna be more south than people think. Everytime its gotten closer the models have shifted more to the south.

We would like to know what about the people who have chosen to evacuate. How many have left the danger zone. And how and where will they be taken care of?

I evacuated from venice, just put a lot of my own money into my little place, new roof, new enclosed porch, new siding etc it's all I have there and I have saved for this to retire.. now what ?

He says making landfall (in Sarasota on Thursday) probably around 2 AM 0:43. But she says that by 2 AM (Thursday) the eye is over Orlando 4:52. High tide on Thursday in Sarasota is at 4:21 AM.
