The only new thing i learned from this is, Master Lock made another lock with the exact same flaw as previous generations. Lol

1 : this isn't the problem with Master Lock specifically it's a problem that exists with almost all rotation combo locks

2 if they knew this trick and how common it was on rotating combinations, they wouldn't have the bolt cutters because there would be no need

3 : no lock is unpickable or unbreakable, the goal is to make sure that your lock is more secure than your neighbors. Because the average person coming through with a pair of bolt cutters is just going to move on to the next lock.

4 : creating awareness to this problem only further the problem with people being able to break into them, now instead of only locksmiths and people who created the locks knowing this information, the entirety of the internet will know this information and now nobody's stuff is safe.

Design flaw from one angle a design principle which enables the lock to function from another 😅
Combination locks were always garbage, are garbage, and as long as they stay purely mechanical, the are going to remain to be garbage.
