In Access Point (AP) mode, router connects to a wireless router through an Ethernet cable to extend the coverage of wireless signal to other network clients.
In this mode, the firewall, IP sharing, and NAT functions are disabled by default.

I want to use an existing non-mesh router as my actual router. I want to disable its wifi, and use two XT8s as the only wifi, as a mesh network. If I put one of the XT8s in Access Point mode, will I be able to add my second XT8 as a mesh node, or do they each have to be separate standalone access points (non-mesh)?

I just want to clarify something: are you people saying that there is a PERMANENT RJ-45 wired cable connection from the main router to the access pt. router in order for this whole thing to work? then that's not really wireless pt. to pt., is it?

I use my RT-AC66U in Access point mode. It works fine, but why do I see both main router (Tecnicolor) and ASUS AP router's SSID? I'd like to use only one SSID to avoid change of wifi when moving around.

Why after I complete what u've done, i can connect to WiFi but there's no Internet, saying that couldn't locate my ip address, and i can't login to asus website again cos there's no interent

I have a Asus GS-AX3000 router and that I was using as my regular router, my internet provider send me a new upgraded router with wifi 6E and I wanted to use it as my 2nd router. It does connect to the internet but it appears as with its own name and I can't figure out how to set it up

So can anyone clarify thst by setting the IP to automatic this pulls through the IP range from the main router? This goes against everything else I've read on this which says DHCP should be turned off on the AP and a manual IP address used that's within the range of the main router

Oh my god how come u are officially Asus channel and also u not show that how I can open the page for the AP roater after I connect it as AP . It’s take me to old asus page . Not to my GTX11000 anymore I need to update the firmware and set gaming mode. And why u don’t hv videos also about how to increase the signal of the Wi-Fi on the GTX11000

I have an Asus modem router DSL-AX82U . It has Iptv bridge and tagged to LAN1 ethernet port for my iptv box. I can only watch iptv via ethernet cable to port 1 . Can I convert this connection with media bridge ? How should I carry LAN1 to another router and connect to my IPTV? Thank you.

Hi, is it possible if i have my main router in Access point mode, and afterwards have another router of the same model however connected in AI mesh mode with the main router. Is there any implications since both the main and second router will have the same SSID?
