08 l Find sum of first 100 positive integers very easy method l Don't Memorize but understand AP l
Find sum of first 100 positive integers .
Give a method to find sum of first 100 positive integers.
The first 100 positive integers are 1, 2, 3, 4, ... , 100
Here a = 1, d = 1, n = 100, l = 100
First method
Sum of first n terms = n/2 (a + l)
= 50 (1 + 100)
= 50 (101)
= 5050
Second method
Sum of first n terms = n/2 [2a + (n - 1)d]
= 50 [2 * 1 + (100 - 1) 1 ]
= 50 [ 2 + 99 ]
= 50 * 101
= 5050
How to derive formula to find sum of first n terms of Arithmetic Progression when last term is not known?
