Why am I watching this. I don't even have a bass.

Of course this song has an *INSANE* bassline because it's written by the bassist. It's like a song that's got an amazing drum solo because the drummer wrote it.

Tuning is higher than usual. A=455 so you need to carefully tune up a little bit (it's not quite F, it's actually about half way in between). Simple line but getting the tone will be harder that you think. Try and play with lots of roundness on the right hand (using more finger to pluck). Key is E Minor (with some use of modal interchange, according to my judgement):

E Minor Natural

i Em (E G B) or Em7 (E G B D)
ii F#dim (F# A C) or F#m (F# A C#) from E Major (modal interchange)
III G (G B D)
iv Am (A C E) or Am7 (A C E G) or A (A C# E) from E Major (modal interchange)
v Bm (B D F#) or B7 (B D# F# A) from E Harmonic Minor, creates tension back into the tonic (I)
VI C (C E G)
VII D (D F# A)

Oh, let's go
Steve walks warily down the street
With the brim pulled way down low
Ain't no sound but the sound of his feet,
Machine guns ready to go
Are you ready, hey, are you ready for this?
Are you hanging on the edge of your seat?
Out of the doorway the bullets rip
To the sound of the beat
Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust
And another one gone, and another one gone
Another one bites the dust
Hey, I'm gonna get you, too
Another one bites the dust
How do you think I'm going to get along
Without you when you're gone?
You took me for everything that I had
And kicked me out on my own
Are you happy, are you satisfied?
How long can you stand the heat?
Out of the doorway the bullets rip
To the sound of the beat
Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust
And another one gone, and another one gone
Another one bites the dust
Hey, I'm gonna get you, too
Another one bites the dust
Hey
Oh take it
Bite the dust
Bite the dust
Hey
Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust oww
Another one bites the dust hey hey
Another one bites the dust eh eh
Oh shooter
There are plenty of ways that you can hurt a man
And bring him to the ground
You can beat him, you can cheat him
You can treat him bad and leave him when he's down
But I'm ready, yes, I'm ready for you
I'm standing on my own two feet
Out of the doorway the bullets rip
Repeating to the sound of the beat oh yeah
Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust
And another one gone, and another one gone
Another one bites the dust
Hey, I'm gonna get you, too
Another one bites the dust
Oh shooter hey hey, all right

So simple, yet so amazing. Amazing how John always sat in the back, probably thinking about this beat for hours trying to come up with lyrics.

A year and a half ago I started learning bass, and this is the first song I learned. Nailed it in a week.

This song's a proper masterpiece, I'd say. Actually that's Queen's standard, absolutely superb band crikey. Thanks a lot, mate. That's brilliant.

Las mejores canciones de Queen llevan muy marcado el bajo maravilloso de John Deacon. Para mí es uno de los mejores bajistas de la historia.

Even though non-bassists would think "oh thats so easy". But I, as a long time bass player can tell you, lots of bassists, even people who play the instrument for 2-3 years can play this in a real groove.
I have played for 17 years already.

John Deacon really shone a light on how imperative basses are in music with the bass being the ‘base’ of the song ;))

I was expecting this song a long time ago, I just love the bass line. It made me understand what bass was in music

Buen cover. Una canción sencilla, perfecta para aquellos que empiezan a tocar (es la primera que aprendí), explicada de forma excelente. Me encantó 👏
