It makes me so happy that Deaky wrote their biggest selling single, it's well deserved

Still one of the funkiest bass lines in history and written by some little scrawny shy British dude. If you don’t at least have your toes tapping when that song starts then you need to check your pulse.

And till this day still the most popular and recognizable bass line. Even to people who are not that into music..
John Deacon genious. A legend.

Deaky was really the secret weapon of QUEEN. A Real genius. Hope he is happy in his retirement with his family and friends. He wrote very good songs. Good bassplayer and good song writter. He was so sad when Freddie's gone... He knew that QUEEN wasn't be able to be the GREAT QUEEN ever more Without Freddie. I'm still agree with him. All my respects for this lovely artist.

Michael said “Put that song out!” He was right, it got No.1 in the US again! John would play the rhythm guitar too that's why John could write a lot of fantastic songs, he wasn't just a bass player, but was also a great song writer and the guitar player too. Thank you John, thank you Queen. アリガトウ

This song is a good starter for going through the transition from 70s Queen to 80s Queen. John Deacon was an underrated song writer, but he's always doing outstanding move. Long live Queen, long live John Deacon, Roger Taylor, Brian May, and also the one and only Freddie Mercury.

Freddie, you need a song the cats can dance to." John introduced this riff to us during rehearsal that we all immediately thought of disco, which was very popular at the time. We worked it out and once it was ready, played it for Michael. I knew we had a hit as he bobbed his head up and down. "That's it, that's the gravy. Release it and it will top the charts, " he said. So we did and it did. —Freddie Mercury

I love how Freddie always talked as if they were all on the same page and worked on everything, in thus case it was just Freddie supporting john

Except for hot space he couldn't pretend they were behind that!

I just love that John Deacon wrote the most recognizable, iconic bass line of all time for himself. If people think they don't know any Queen songs, all you have to do is start singing "Bom bom bom, ah bup bup by-ah bup."
