I have recently finished my Masters in Cyber Security and I'm planning on taking SSCP first as a warmup and then hit the books for the CISSP. I had already taken and passed CEH, CHFI, CCNP Sec, CCNA CyberOps and Sec Plus (along with 20 different network certs mainly Cisco and Juniper). Thanks for your video, this has been informative!

@7:00 I respectfully disagree .. the more resources you use the more confusing it gets. Use a solid book, and solid practice questions and you’re good

Great video, I’m networking engineer and transitioning into cyber sec, just graduated from uni. Currently preparing for CISSP and hopefully I will attempt the exam on Jan or Feb 2023, I’m planning to educate my self from different resources and do question banks, currently I’m on domain 3. Wish me luck

Jon its pretty sad when there's people that have passed and still can't figure how they did. It literally felt like a game of competitive chess moving your pieces across the board. I literally felt like I had to interrogate the question and say what you "REALLY" asking for. Scrutinizing almost every word in the question. hahaha. Your advise is accurate and solid.

Planning on taking it next week after spending last 6 weeks prepping: CISSP Cybrary course; CISSP INE course; CISSP youtube series by Destination Certification; prep videos by Max Quasar; Sybex Official Guidebook; taking a few of the Kaplan CISSP practice exams; currently going through Boson CISSP practice exams. Been in the info tech world for about 20 yrs with half of that time doing security administration and engineering work. Despite all this still nervous but this video was definitely a good help (among several other Jon Good CISSP related videos)

I am planning on taking the CISSP in around four months. I already have five CompTIA certifications as well as Blue Team Level 1. I have over five years of experience and I hope it is enough for (ISC2) to give it to me.

Thanks Jon!!
I'm studying for the CISSP exam after passing my Security+ in February. This video has convinced me that I am on the right track for your first 4 points.
I've diversified my study sources which has included reading the CBK cover to cover, and I understand the rules for the exam but point 5 makes me a bit nervous since I don't have any experience.

I have given my first attempt and failed on the exam, from the 5 things Jon explained the most important to pay attention is about long questions and how to focus on the relevant part. Nice video (y).

I felt like I was lied to about the “think like a manager” mindset. For a lot of the questions I chose all the most general, all encompassing and relevant answers I could but to no avail. Not even sure I want to take that test again because the materials barely helped: boson, sybex, 11th hour, Kelley Henderson, Larry greenblatt, all my notes about things to keep in mind from everything. Bunch of BS.

Was thinking I was going to complete my sec+ in less than a month, scheduled my exam already and, due to low test practice I need to push that back! Haha. Maybe another Month.

I took it last week and bombed it. What's crazy/confusing to me is that pre-exam I passed most areas at 7-9/10 but then during the exam, because it's CAT, the things that were either briefly touched on in the study guide (CYBEX) were on the exam more than the bulk of the material in the study guide. I also did poorly in domains I had tested 8/9 on, but did better in areas I was struggling in. I'm not sure if I'm an outlier, had a bad exam (i'm a horrible test taker), or ACTUALY didn't know the information, as my results were completely different than my pretest results. I'm going to take it again, but I'm completely unsure of how to move forward.

The GSEC was 5 hours long, I think I can stay awake for a 3 hour exam. :)
