Love the elk hair caddis probably my most used fly here in montana next to the royal wulff and a hopper pattern. Salmon fly patterns kill during the hatch of course.

It's an X-Caddis I believe. Great tie! You could rib it with with a lighter material than wire if you find the wire adds extra weight.

I’ve got basically everything to tie this. I don’t have any Zelon or Antron so I might use a few hackle fibers instead. Either way I like the wings out of bucktail!

Can you tie this with deer hair instead of elk hair? This is one I want to tie but I don't have the elk hair so yeah but I've bought and used these love it for caddis hatches or even for dry dropper rigs! #flies
