Unfortunately game wardens do see us fishermen as dollar signs. Thank you for making a good point on nature conservation. The dead fish sight was truly saddening

Wow. Insane. Sucks that fish wasn’t able to be caught I can only imagine the fight it would’ve put up. Keep doing your thing man

For a couple of years me and my buddy tried to catch this huge rainbow in our local lake. All the rainbow trout there where about 7 inches but there was a few giants. Anyways when they drained it we found one of the dead ones that weighed 15 pounds after most likely losing weight. And I still wished they wouldn’t have drained it so we might’ve have caught it

My best friend just caught the new world record tiger trout here in Spokane Washington. A few months ago. 24.6 pounds😊😊

Oh man. This hit home for me. One of my favorite reservoirs here in CA got drained about 5yrs back and the amount of giant dead brown trout brought me to tears ! Those fish were monsters . Cool video brother 😎!

Ayrshire Rivers Trust have netted, removed and relocated thousands of trout from similar reservoirs in south west Scotland when they have been drained. It is accepted practice here, that native species are valuable and should be save wherever possible. It is an extremely difficult and expensive task but worthwhile.

Great and informative video! Yes, that kind of waste is shameful and at 68 years old I would have showed up to help transport those fish! Heck, let all the kids have a free fishing day and quickly transfer the fish from hook to containers!!!

I live on the Platte River in Wyoming for 44 yrs. Caught many HUGE trout.
That is a amazing tiger trout, 101/2 lbs, maybe a hair more. Great stuff thanks.

The lake got really low and probably turned over, draining into that stream probably killed everything in the stream too.

I love how you respected the fish that had died. Thank you for showing this. It never crossed my mind, (how sad is that) about the amount of lives that are lost when this is done. Not only do those fish suffer and die, im sure other wildlife became dependant on that lake as well. Truly something I personally, needed to see.

What a shame. Thanks for sharing. Alive or dead, they are pretty incredible fish.

One thing I’ll say as a former government worker. The people who go out and do their jobs everyday also think these regulations are stupid (to use friendly language) there are folks in Washington making regulations for your state and they have never put their boots on the ground near our waterways.

Rarely use Mepps lures? I live in Norway and I use them all the time. Caught my biggest rainbow trout on one too. Weighed 7.5 lbs.

4:28 This was the best part of a sad video. I live in CA and if you want to talk about forest and wildlife management here... its sickening. Fish end up dead on the bank of lake because of drainage and the trees are all burned to hell. All these things could have been prevented, but the federal government says "let it burn".
