Sorry it's so long, I'm still in my Trainer Mode from my previous job.

I swear Samsung should be sending Jimmy some paychecks for doing them a favor by explaining all of this to us. Always the best information and tutorials right here. No need to watch anyone else.

Thank u so very much, I almost through my 3 months old S20 in the garbage bin because the battery would only last for 5 hours ! And it was overheating to a scary point, I took it to Samsung service centre 3 times and they kept saying there is nothing wrong with it. I tried everything.
Watched your video, and when I followed ur guidance found an email app that was running in the background for 16 to 17 hours per day! And consuming 150 to 170 % of the battery life Logged out from this email app and the phone battery lasted at least for 20 hours and more !! Thank u again mate

Click and hold "location"
Click "Google Location History"
Turn off "Location History"
That is usually always the culprit

Crisp, clear, and easy to apply. Thank you, Jimmy, for these fantastic tips. Did the first 5 steps already and will check the usage.
Thank you, once again.🤗☺️

FYI BOOTING TO CLEAR CACHE PARTITION, if you have a Galaxy s8 or similar you have to use the power button, the volume up button and the bixby button. Once you see the Samsung logo appear let go of the power button and the bixby button but continue to hold the volume up button until and again until you see the boot options. Great video BTW.

Thanks, this video has saved me a couple of times now with Play services on both occasions spiking to something like 20-30 per cent battery useage, and a normally 2 day battery almost dead inside 12 hours. Suspect the issue was another app which was also drawing a lot of power and triggering Play services in some way. Anyway, followed your advice steps and sanity was restored- both the phone and mine !

Thanks for the great tips! Definitely been seeing my battery performance go down and phone heating up after the latest UI update.

I use a bixby routine that disables sync entirely unless I am charging and that makes absolutely zero apps in my battery usage show up as "background usage" I don't even see google play services in that battery usage screen. ever since I made that routine not only do I save a lot of battery but I still have important stuff synced when it is charging. I STRONGLY recommend setting a bixby routine to disable sync when you are not charging unless you have some reason you must have it on even off the charger. but for me it works amazing and I don't have to think about syncing because it does it when I put it on the charger.

Ok. Going to help everyone out here quickly. I've been monitoring this for some time. First, no need to clear cache...🙄 second..go to your accounts, put everything that's not a priority off to not auto sync. Third and most important, turn OFF automatic updates for Google play store. You can always manually check when you need or want to. Automatic updates DO drain battery. With these adjustments I have monitored for a while. If it's even google play store or google services, I show either one ranginging from 0.5 to 1.6...sometimes in the 2 range. It's been a LONG time that I can even find a time that reached even 3. Before I could CONSISTANTLY see through the history many times hitting from 4 to 7. I hope this helps everyone😉

One comment on entering recovery mode though. It is true as shown on S20. On S8 and S10 (both of which I have) you use Bixby button to. Once the device is off, press and hold the Bixby and volume up buttons, then press the power button. Let go of the power once the phone turns on, while still keeping the Bixby and volume up buttons pressed.

To better save battery, you can click the "sync" button on your drop down buttons. You will save a ton of battery and please make sure to turn of nearby scanning by going to connections>more connections>nearby scanning (turn off)

Play Services on my phone never exceeded 0.5%. I guess that's a good thing...

Great video. Much appreciated! You've saved me having to wipe my note10 and start from scratch - something very time consuming and annoying. My battery life is now what it use too be when I first purchased it. Love your work
