Maybe you'll choose Berlin as well and we will see each other walking around in Mitte on a Saturday afternoon :D

I’ve been trying to move to Germany since 2020. My first visit there was in 2021 and I was hooked. As a 50+ yo American woman with no degree, I have found it to be challenging. I’m currently looking into teaching at a Kita, and have just completed 3 semesters of German in college. This was a helpful video. Thank you.

About drivers license, as a German, I would recommend to all foreigners but especially to US citizens to not only transfer your license but also go to our drivers school to take at least some theoretical lessons. Cause you need to know the german street rules and how to interact with others in traffic, which is something you didn't learn over there but we do for weeks here. Everyone did this here, that's why it works.

i loved hearing the mindset you had before and going into making the decision to move, taking that leap is so significant and important across the board. From work to where you live, experiences you have; so much of it is just taking that jump and seeing where you land. Thanks for sharing the experience and stories, keep em coming!!

I'd love to hear the biggest surprises and differences you experienced when you first got to Germany!

PS - rumble, bumble, stumble 👏

This is great!! I feel like people who move abroad take a big leap of faith and have to become more flexible/open-minded so it's always fun to hear stories about it. :) This was super informative, thank youuu. Still not sure if I'm moving anywhere, but step 1 is to visit to see if I like the vibes...or I guess that is a skippable step based on your story 😂
