Great of you Nikhil to have visited the grave of the great man. I had the good fortune of seeing the great man bowl in a one day match in Amar Singh Club in Srinagar, Kashmir against India. Believe me when I say this, he was so quick that I couldn’t even see the ball. All I could see is Malcom Marshal in his run up like a panther. He would bowl, next thing you would see is Jeffrey Dujon passing the ball to 1st slip. Nothing in between. India lost badly. I remember Sunil Gavaskar saying after the match that ‘ He has never seen leather travel so fast ever in his life’. Too bad he died so young of Colon Cancer. RIP!

Just a name Malcolm Marshall put a cold sweat down the spines of every batsman in the 1980s. He basically carried the torch for the entire West Indian team from the Holding, Garner, Roberts era to the Ambrose/Walsh era.

To me he was the greatest.

Malcolm Marshall - a bowler we, in India, loved to hate in 80's! Nikhil, it wasn't just the speed and fear he instilled in batsmen but Marshall's career average of 20.94, over 81 tests, is a tribute to his supreme quality and consistency. You might want to add that to your video.

As a child I used to hate this man, especially when after the windies would score 400 + and on the second day evening Marshall would reduce us to 35 for 5. This was in the mid 80s.
But over the years as I have grown out of my childhood and seen much more cricket, I say with a heavy heart that we have missed his presence dearly. Agree he is the GOAT of all the fast bowlers. RIP.

Marshall was the fastest and certainly scariest even for the fans. Imagine the batsmen those days! I still remember (as a school kid) seeing him field at a boundary closest to me as a spectator in a Madras Test match in late '70s. I was in awe of this man. 🎉

I had a friend who played in the same subdistricts team Moorabbin in Melbourne with Malcolm Marshall. My friend passed away at 42 from cancer about the same age as Marshall. I asked my friend what it was like as a low-grade amateur facing Marshall as a teammate in the nets. He said he didn’t slow down and hit me all over my body.

All-time G O A T indeed in my book always - having been born around that time I am fully biased about this Slingshot Superman. Especially knowing hiw much he was loved in his short life! I have read of the gutsy, touching end to his lfe too but you certainly made my day! THANK YOU for sharing a memorable visual site for those few like you n me who cherish this legend as a memory

The Greatest Ever Fast Bowler who could pick wickets at will

That’s why I respect players like Sunil Gavaskar & Co more. For Marshall surface was not a concern at all. His round the wicket bouncers were lethal because he skidded on to batsman at a serious pace.
