I’ve never been a fan of baggy cargo shorts or flip flops but I love wearing jean shorts on colder summer days. And on really hot days, I feel most comfortable in swim trunks with a tank top and sandals.

1. Jean shorts are cool.
2. Cuffed up shorts are cool.
3. Unless your legs are super thick, a standard crew sock looks better than an exposed ankle.
4. On really hot days, swim trunks with a tank top and sandals are the most comfortable.

The long shorts trend drove me nuts—when "short" inseams were 9". At 5'6" with an inseam of 30", I need 5-7" shorts to lay just at or slightly above my knee. Anything longer covers my knees and I look like a stump. For several years, it was nearly impossible to find those inseam lengths at anything other than a specialty store. I'm glad that fashion trend has passed at least for a little while.

Thank you for making this video. I went out and bought flat front shorts today in navy and gray. I got the length right thanks to your advice. These shorts are a little shorter than what I'm used to and I grew up wearing cargo shorts that went past my knee. However, I like the way these look by showing off my knee and some thigh muscle and they aren't as hot as longer shorts.

Umm multiple pictures she used as recommendations had guys with cuffs in their shorts and shorter shorts are great if you have nice legs and she again used them in her pictures. She also has said before that you can wear high top sneakers with shorts, the converse picture she used didn’t even look bad..

I'm 50 years old and you will never see me dressing like I just got off a golf course or coming out of a senior bingo game. I wear camo cargo shorts and a black t shirt. I'm a drummer, mountain biker and a bass fisherman and it just doesn't fit my attitude or lifestyle. And trust me, I'm not alone in these summer clothing choices at my age.

I'm confused. She just said never cuff your shorts, but there are multiple examples shown with dudes with cuffed shorts. Also, I never cuff my shorts. Second, do we have a new preferred length now? A lot of "long" shorts in this video.

My go to is flat front golf shorts. They are stretchable and some have a inner band to keep your shirt in place if you go with the tuck.
