Also, about the negative zero error, we could also take the '10' on the vernier scale as a '0' because either side, the arrangement of the vernier scale wrt the main scale appears to be symmetric.
Now, the vernier scale will have to move how many ever LCs (in the left direction) to meet one of the divisions on the main scale
