This topic is very useful. To take a rough idea of some calculation we first round off the numbers to the nearest multiple of tens, hundreds, thousands etc.
ESTIMATION INTRODUCTION
To round off a given number to the nearest multiple of ten, we compare the unit digit of the given number with 5 , if it's greater than five then we add one to the number formed by preceding digits of the given number.
Similarly, to round off nearest Hundreds and thousands, we compare the number with 50 and 500 respectively
